This inspiration and sketch board belongs to our outerwear and pants designer.
From hand-drawn sketches, she makes careful notes about the details that will make each piece special and unique. After further refinement and notes about construction, she turns over her artwork to our sourcing and tech departments who reach out to factories with unique and high quality fabrics and who spend time ensuring samples will fit just right and meet our high standards for the perfect fit. For us, Threads Up begins with inspiration and meticulous attention to detail and our ability to execute flawlessly from the initial sketch.

One of our driving passions is to scour less-travelled destinations to find unique, vintage pieces that we can re-interpret into our own collection.
Recently, one of our designers took up an invite to a vintage textile warehouse in Seattle to search for inspiration.
The warehouse was filled to the brim with incredible vintage pieces. She dug through heaps of clothing to find amazing timeless work wear, baseball tees, sport coats from the ’20s—a clothing designer’s heaven.
The sights and sounds of the city are a great source of inspiration on their own. Seattle’s thriving creative community and bustling, colorful streets spoke of its own, unique heritage. Seattle is famous for its music scene and we found immersing ourselves into the sound and the natural beauty around us in the Northwest had a great influence on our ideas for upcoming designs.

Be daring, be different, be impractical, be anything that will assert integrity of purpose and imaginative vision against the play-it-safers, the creatures of the commonplace, the slaves of the ordinary.
